Discover The World Of Ravenswell

Every town has its secrets. Ravenswell has a lot more than most.

At first glance, Ravenswell is a small town, just like any other small town. People work, gossip, fall in love, get married, fall out, raise families, make friends, and generally know rather more about their neighbours’ business than their neighbours would prefer.

But look a little closer, and Ravenswell becomes something else entirely.

Magic is real here. The trouble is, most of Ravenswell has no idea.

Witches, psychics and empaths live alongside people who don’t know they are anything other than ordinary neighbours, friends and familiar faces. Creatures dismissed as folklore aren’t necessarily quite as fictional as everybody assumes.

There are rules to this magic, though — and consequences for breaking them. Old histories have never been completely forgotten, and beneath Ravenswell’s secrets are other secrets waiting to be uncovered.

At the centre of all of this stands The Crow & Cauldron.

Raven Morrigan’s The Crow & Cauldron series unfolds across a continuing collection of books, with each story opening another door into Ravenswell and revealing something bigger about the world and the people within it.

So pay attention.

Not everything is explained when you first encounter it. A character who seems unimportant may not be. A throwaway remark may turn out to mean considerably more than you thought. And something sitting quietly in the background may have been there for a very specific reason.

The further you travel into Ravenswell, the more you discover — and the story you thought you were reading becomes only one part of something much larger.

But let’s go back to the beginning.

It all starts with Gravepetals.

At the heart of Ravenswell is The Crow & Cauldron, a sprawling witchy shop filled with everything from herbs and candles to books, curiosities and things you probably didn’t know you needed until you saw them. It has its own café, its much-loved Book Nook, and rather more going on behind the scenes than its customers realise.

Among its owners is Rowan Ashcroft, and around Rowan is a circle of people who are already far more than simply friends.

There is Vincent DeMarco, Rowan’s partner of many years — fiercely protective, almost impossible to intimidate and never very far from her side.

Mae Stillwater is an empath, which means other people’s emotions can sometimes be impossible for her to ignore. Her partner, Michael Holden, is Ravenswell’s Chief of Police and regularly finds himself dealing with incidents that don’t fit neatly into ordinary police reports.

Then there are Jonah and Naomi Whitlock. Jonah is head ranger of the Pine Barrens, while Naomi is psychic. Their three children — Caleb, Eddie and Amara — each have gifts of their own, and the children’s friendships, adventures and discoveries are every bit as much a part of Ravenswell as those of the adults around them.

And then, of course, there is Pumpkin.

An enormous ginger-and-white Maine Coon with opinions, absolutely no respect for personal boundaries, and an uncanny ability to involve himself wherever trouble happens to be.

Apparently, though, he’s just a cat.

Or is he?

One circle. One town. And a story that keeps getting bigger.

Gravepetals introduces you to Ravenswell and the world within it.

It doesn’t explain everything, though.

As the series continues, familiar characters will reveal sides of themselves you haven’t seen before. New people will arrive, others will leave, relationships will change, children will grow up, and old mysteries will unravel just as new ones take their place.

Just like any other town.

Except Ravenswell is definitely not like any other town.

Something that appears insignificant in one book may matter much later. A passing remark may not have been casual at all. And someone you thought you understood may still be hiding the biggest secret of all.

There are clues and Easter eggs scattered throughout the series. Some are sitting in plain sight. Others are considerably more sneaky.

Raven knows exactly where they are.

She isn’t telling you.

You’ll have to work them out for yourself.
