Small Vintage Carved Soapstone Family Sculpture

A small and beautifully simple abstract sculpture entitled Family, carved from pale soapstone.

The design uses three flowing, interconnected figures to represent a family group, with the larger figure curving protectively around the smaller forms. Open spaces between the figures give the little sculpture a surprisingly sculptural appearance despite its compact size.

The stone has been smoothly polished and retains natural variations in its warm cream colouring, together with occasional small mineral markings.
