The seated dog is covered with floral and foliate decoration, with patterned ears, a bold red collar and generous gold detailing highlighting the flowers, face, ears and sweeping tail. The decoration continues around the figure, making it attractive from every angle.

A lovely companion piece to the Japanese Imari Shishi temple lion, while equally decorative displayed on its own.
